We went for a little picnic

Well, we had some time to do nothing today so we decided to get out and get some fresh air. We packed a lunch and went over along the Shannandoah River. It was nice out, not tooo hot, but we weren't moving much either... a breeze off the river would have been welcome. It was good to get Janie out of the house and spend some time in the fresh air and sunlight. We haven't scoped out the parks along the river and I think we can do better next time. Our little spot this time was actually just a clearing between a back road and the river but there was some grass, and shade anyway. I took pictures of the river without getting out of my chair (for some) and I took some of Janie too. I get to do that now that we need "progress pictures" So down below I will post a couple of pics.

Charlie hasn't been very happy as the neighbors relatives, kids, and Fred the jack russell have been encroaching on his territory. He just sits in the kitchen looking out the them in digust. I don't think he plays well with others... especially when they are dogs, or are on his deck.

NOTE: Jane would like it noted that I have not been keeping her in the dark. She has not felt well most of the time and so has not been getting out and about like she likes to do. I really DON'T keep her locked up in a cupboard, or closet as we say in America!

Since everyone already knows

Hello one and all,

I am not sure who the one is, exactly... but if you feel better being the one than the all it's for you. I happened to notice that I have not blogged since we put the little deck protecting moose on here, June 29th. Wow... Where does the time go when you are not blogging?
Well about six weeks ago God decided to Bless us with a baby. No ... not a stork dropped through the chimney deal. No baby left on our doorstep, and we didn't adopt either.
Three weeks ago I was sitting at the computer up in the office and Jane asks me from the bedroom if I have my reading glasses on... (Cheaters... mind you!!!). I said no but I could put them on and she walked in and put this little thing in front of my nose, and said read that...
It said "Pregnant"... I was suprised, and my immidiate response was that we had finally managed to do something we had been trying to do for two and a half years. If only you could see the look on her face when she realized that it was real. This is something that Jane and I have wanted for a long time and I thank God he has allowed us this opportunity.
We have had time to let it sink in now, and I am still looking forward to, and anticipating raising another child. . . I know times have changed, and it will be different... But, I have to believe that if God thinks were okay to do this then we are up for the challenge as well.
I get all the comments from the KIDS at work about being 70 when this one graduates from High School. Bring you Dad to school day... "What does your Daddy do for a living" and "Oh, he hands out the carts at Wal-mart" or "hes's retired" ... But what do you expect... I am old enough to be their dad too!
The funniest thing is that Charlie seems to know. He follows Jane around during the day, sits close to her, and seems to know that something is different.
Not so funny... Jane is nauseated and dizzy most of the time. Not losing her cookies sick, but not feeling well. I am doing all I can to see that she doesn't hurt herself over exerting herself, and that she gets enough rest.
So other than that, Work is work as usual. I have two more days of Military tour for this year ( I have to pull 15 days each year as well as my weekends). I will be glad when it's done.
Tomorrow we have our first ultrasound... and that should be interesting... I know technology has advanced a bit since 1984.
I don't have any pictures to go with this blog. I told my brother that we were pregnant and he said he thought I looked bigger... HAHA I left myself open for that one I guess.
