Time for school soon

I guess I have too much time on my hands. So... Here are some comparisons of what I work on, in relation to buildings in Seattle Washington.

The one above is the King Street Station in Seattle ( AMTRAK station) It is 247’ tall. The same length as the C-5A Galaxy.

The one behind is the Six Story Building “Veer Lofts in Seattle. It is as tall as the “T” tail of the C-5 Galaxy at 65 feet.





If you were to lay the C5A Galaxy on the side of the building on it's wing tip. It's wings would extend 20 feet over the top of the building. The plane is 222 feet wide (wingtip to wingtip) The Alaska building is 202 feet tall.

It routinely carries 3/4 of a million pounds, and in wartime conditions can carry 1 million pounds. It has been around and in testing since I was 8. With the first full time service in 1968. It is truly an amazing sight to see!

Something new from Charlie

To everyone else he may just be a cat. . . But, he is really much more to Jane and I. He has so much personality and is always coming up with some new curiosity that he has to investigate. And.. of course THAT is just more entertainment for us. Jane told me that he was doing this with the water in the bath tub, and I had not got to see it until today.
Jane took a short video of him doing this the other day, and after watching that this morning. I took the camera into the bathroom while Jane brushed her hair, I stood in there with the camera. Once the water was on a little Charlie was quick to hop in the tub and provide me with some footage of him playing in the water... I am so easily entertained! LOL . . .

Time for a post

It has been a hectic week at work for me, and I am glad that it is over. We had an aircraft with some problems this last week. In fact we did an engine change last weekend. Well, today... we finally fixed everything we had to so that it works in sync with the other three engines. .. These airplanes were built in 1968, 1969, and 1970. We actually fly the oldest one still in commission. I was 10 when it rolled out!
I waited until I could sit and watch it in it's entireity... but, when up at Dad's and Mom's Jane and I were given a disk from Derek and Alicia. WOW!!! . . . It is a fantastic compilation of Jadon, and his Dad and Mom being a family... I really Love it! . . . It is wonderful to see Jadon at home, with Mom... and Dad sharing, living and Loving. (Sorry, I still have to fast forward past the baby food - long story there). But, I did enjoy it... a LOT!
It also made me a bit sad, seeing it like that shows you all that you miss in your kids and grand kids lives... by being so far away. . . sigh!
Not to change the subject, but.. changing the subject...

Jane tells me (and I DO believe her completely!!!) that she caught Charlie washing his face in the bathtub ( she turns the water on a trickle for him while she is in there doing the things Jane does in the bathroom in the morning { Makeup, Hair, I guess... I don't know as I am at work and she is always Beautiful when I see her} and he hops into the tub and gets a drink and plays). She said she caught him doing a bit of this on video, so soon, maybe we will get to see as well.

Our friends that watched Charlie for us while out in Washington said "Charlie is a really wild cat, he's not like a normal cat" They played with him and I guess he entertained them well for the time they spent with him. What ever you want to call him... He's our Charlie!

I Love Snow

Snow brings out the life in me I guess... Jane and I went for a walk in it when it stopped falling for a bit. We really don't have enough to build a snow man, but, there was enough to introduce Charlie to what it is... and ...

There was enough for me to make another Snow Angel... and yes... it's a big one!




Today was back at work... and a C-5 can hold a lot of snow on top of it!!! wow! Probably back out in it tomorrow too. but then... I asked for it... so I am not complaining!

It woudn't do any good if I did! LOL

This is WONDERFUL!!!

Last night the Cardinals won the playoffs to go to the Superbowl...

and NOW....

It's Friday!!!!!

Funny, me saying that... I only worked two days this week. But it was THAT kind of a two day week!
Today was 7 degrees with a 15-25 mile an hour wind. I was outside in it most of the day and well... IT's COLD!!!! Oh, I had all my cold weather gear on and for the most part it was okay, I managed. I do need to get one of those ski mask that exposes only your mouth and eyes though.

We have been to Washington state and back last week on into Monday night. Dad got sick and was admitted to the hospital so we had to move up our plans to come home by a couple of weeks. I think it is safe to speak for everyone that was there when we were. It was stressful to say the least. Dad was not doing well when I got there, and fortunately all that they were doing for him worked, and the day before Jane and I had to fly home he was moved to a temporary facility for rehabilitation. He was still tired from the ordeal and not being home where he wants so bad to be, but, his color was back and I even saw that twinkle in his eye a couple of times before I left (though not for very long).
The upside to the trip was that I got to see all my siblings, and my son Derek, Alicia, and Jadon... What a kick that little boy is! between Colton... and Jadon... I like being a Grandpa!... A LOT!!!!
I stay in contact with family in the area and am told that he is doing well and feeling better. The hope is that he will be able to recover completely and go home. . . Only time will tell. ..
So, if you are of a mind to do some praying... It sure would help!
I have three nice days off now, and on Sunday I get to watch my Cardinals play in a Championship game - I believe my son Alex said it best... "Where did they come from???" Who knows... maybe even a shot at the Super Bowl LOLOL.... Wouldn't THAT be something!!! If you have ever seen the Cardinals play in the last... oh... 30 years or so... you know that this is as far as they have EVER been. Should be interesting... I even think Jane is going to watch it with me!
I almost forgot to mention... We had snow! . . . Thursday morning I walked out the door to about one inch of white powdery snow. . . By noon... it was gone. Frankly, I don't think that really counts. I didn't even get to play in it!... sigh! . . . still waiting!

The Holidays are behind us...

It's been a fun and interesting season in the Loveless household. We enjoyed lots of time off ( thanks to the airplanes being good to us! - If they broke we would have had to work more!)... and a whole lot of rest and relaxation around here.
Christmas brought us everything that we could have asked for (short of being able to be home and visit with our families) and some pleasant surprises for us as well. We have had LOTS of goodies, and fattening meals and really I think I over did the chocolate a whole lot!!! ( Thank you Mum and Catherine!!! It's been wonderful trying the different chocolates you sent over).
Tonight Derek and Alicia treated us to a really great dinner at Applebee's restaurant, and that is ALWAYS good... so Thank you for that as well.
We have packed Christmas away for another year and on Monday I will kick back into high gear and off to work I go. Right into Drill Weekend too! LOL... but with all the time off we have had this holiday season I better not complain... It has been nice to be able to spend so much time here at home with Jane ( a little taste of retirement maybe... and she didn't run me out of the house either). I think, that is a good sign.
Tomorrow we are going to take a short trip over to Frederick, with a stop in Sharpsburg and well who knows where else we will go.
I haven't had the laptop up and running for some time and I have been doing maintenance on it all day - updates etc... I am going to take it with us up to the Folks so we can share our new home and pics of the area with those who are interested as well as Christmas pics. That will be done soon.
I have given up on the snow and if it happens well then I will cheer when it arrives. It has been 10 years since I have had any significant snowfall to play in and I am ready!
