Just one of "those" days

I have had many memorable days in my life with my children... I would like to think that the ones that stay with me and warm my heart, mean as much to them. At any rate... The memorys are sometimes more meaningful than words can describe. So... indulge an old Dad his memorys for a bit.
Like the look on a teenage boys face when his Dad told him he could have a 1968 Chevelle. How about the time I was filling in at a little league baseball game as the umpire and my son hit a couple of homeruns. .. I wanted to jump up and down and cheer him on, but, I was the umpire and all I could do was tell him good hit son as he crossed the plate. Then there was a High School fast pitch softball game.. . it was cold, wet and rainy... I froze my butt off, but! I got to see my girl play ball, and that made it great. Oh, there were others like the Christmas we went and got a tree so big it stuck out over both ends of the Jeep, and we played in the snow. Some come to you when you see interaction between other kids and their parents. All are good to reflect on.
Today after work was a surprise.

I came home from work and the girls were over visiting the neighbors. I busied myself with taking out the garbage (Wednesday is garbage day). When they came out Rebecca lit up and started jumping in her mothers arms and smiling at me. She just about dove into my arms. The rest of the evening was her night with Daddy. We played, and I gave her a bottle that she finished in my arms... asleep. When I put her down to have her nap, she giggled in her sleep.
I was having my dinner when she woke, and I shared a pickle with her. Yes Rebecca is a Daddy's girl and she loves to eat all she can of a sliver of pickle. Mum fed her some proper baby food and gave her a bit of a bottle, and then we sat together and she played contently for the rest of the evening. I did the diaper detail and put her pjs on her and then she was ready for her elephant headed cuddle (Mr Snuggles) and went to bed for Mum like a little angel.
I don't get a lot of days like that. But, I have learned to slow down and appreciate every moment I get to spend with all of my kids, and my grand kids.
I am quite Blessed to have the kids and Grand kids that I have. I am Very proud of all of them and a day doesn't pass that I don't thank God for each and every one of them. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the evening.

It's been so long... where to start?

As I said, we really enjoyed the visit with Mum, Catherine and Andrew. We did alot of traveling and sight seeing. And we had a lot of fun... It was fun to have them here and to have Mum for a couple of weeks. It also brought to light how far we are from home... both Jane's Family and mine.

Time with Family is important... and very, very precious.

Mostly a belated Mother's Day montage'

Well,

I am sorry for the delay in posting our pictures. You would be suprised how little time one has to do anything like this when there is a wee tike in the house to care for. I know, I know... Mummy does MOST of the work there, but I do help too! . . . ANYWAYYYY...

This was our first Mothers Day and we wanted it to be more than just a nice memory for Mummy. SO, Rebecca and I ordered a card on line that was made in England and sent here so that Mummy would have a "proper" Mum's Day card. Janie had no idea and was quite suprised to get a card from clever miss Rebecca that said Happy Mothers Day Mummy, and then to open a "pressie" from Rebecca that had to come from England as well... Marks & Spencer came through and we found a cute little shirt that Jane was just over the moon about. We were told that this will be a Mum's Day to remember always.

Baby Shower Part I: getting ready at our house...

This is the Beautiful Mum to be getting ready to go across the street to her Baby Shower.

She is looking quite radiant in her new top all dressed up and ready to go! ... Now for me to prepare for the boys!...

Charlie has been going stir crazy in the house. He keeps going to the patio door and wants to get outside. He does NOT like getting his little feet wet. So I decided to clear a little room for him on the deck so he could get outside.

Well, I went strait out the door to the railing and turned around and looked at the deck covered in snow. I decided to have a little fun with Charlie as it wasn't too bad clearing the path.

So Charlie got a maze to play in...

He actually likes it and got the idea that he can chase me around the maze... it was cute.

But playtime had to end so I could get things ready for the boys to come over while the girls were across the street at the baby shower... guys ,were not invited!

The mind is ALWAYS thinking... If you gonna have a deck, and your gonna have a party... You have to be mindful of your options...

And I was worried because I didn't have an ice chest big enough!... HA! Refilling was easy too. We just removed the empty six pack and replaced it with a full one. We had a LOT of fun!...

We just could never get our heads around the Olympic sport of "Curling"... though we watched a LOT of it! LOL
