Airshow today!!!!

Today Jane and I went to the Martinsburg Air show. It was Wonderful! Jane was a really good sport about it and willingly went with me (She is WONDERFUL!!!). The whole point in going was to see the P-51 Mustang, and the P-40 Warhawk (Flying Tiger). After 21 years of being with F-16's it was not the highlight of the event for me to see them fly. Besides They put on a show when they arrive at the base for us anyway. So, for me... today was about the Mustang... and the other classic aircraft that were there.
As time goes by I fear we will see the end of such a wonderous and beautiful part of our World War history in the skys. Aircraft that served a purpose in their day to keep the world free from Tyranny... Now they are only beautiful and poetic aircraft taking to the air to impress and please those fortunate enough to see them fly.
I tried to get Janie to let me take her picture next to one of the planes... but, it wasn't going to happen (Maybe ... had there been a Spitfire there! LOL).
When we arrived we found not one but TWO BEAUTIFUL Mustangs, as well as the P-40. There were other aircraft there as well, for those who can appreciate them, there was a PT-19, BT-13, SNJ, Beech Stagger wing, Waco bi-plane, home builts, ultra lights, a couple of ugly warthogs (A-10's) and two F-16's... oh... and one of our C-5's as well.

The day was perfect for an airshow, I got to see the Mustang Fly and the P-40... and then we spent a nice afternoon together at home, and shopping for the house. We aren't done yet but when we are there will be pictures of the house I promise.

The Never Ending Story... (or so it seems!)

Well, we're in our new house. It seems like it will take forever to get settled though. I know Jane is pushing herself and trying to get things done while I am at work and The house looks really nice every day when I walk in. I like seeing what she has been up to "today". Then I change and we set in together hanging curtains or like tonight I finally got to that ceiling fan I needed to fix. I know that tomorrow will bring more for me to do when I get home and that is good. Every time we make a box disappear, we are closer to being "really moved in!".
We looked around the other day after the dining set and book cases were delivered. I commented that the rooms look smaller now. Yesterday we put up curtains in the living and dining area... once again while we were watching TV I looked up and said. You know... with the curtains up... the rooms look smaller! ( again ). After sharing that with the couple of guys at work I helped move (and are going through the same thing...) I decided I am not hanging ANY pictures up! . . .
. . . I don't think I could stand having the rooms shrink anymore than they have... Unless maybe, the mortgage would shrink in direct proportion the the rooms!
Anyway we are free from the rental without any more hassles and ... this is our home!

We're not done yet... but, we're close!

I am taking a moment to say simply that the move is going well. Most everything small has been moved. The large items will be moved on Monday with the assistance of some co-workers. That is a good thing! The piano is just HEAVY!!!!
I took the mower over to the house tonight and cut some of the yard as well. The front hill is steeper than it looks. I dare say I won't be cutting it until I know it is dry because it wouldn't make it up the hill!
The garage floor did not fair well on the second coat. I messed up and it will be a while before I get a chance to correct it. For now... it will do.
On top of the move I have to work this weekend. So it has been fun.

Sorry there are no pictures at this time. I haven't taken any and if Jane has, well she can post them on here later. I am beat! and I am ready for the move to be done.

On a higher note... My Dad will be 84 tomorrow! How cool is that! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!! I LOVE YOU! - I know he doesn't have a computer. but well... maybe he'll see this on someone else'.

Bye for now.
